About Film

Satya Prakash's POV

The film " PIKU" RUNS INTO ALIMENTARY CANAL.

The film " PIKU" is the story of long curvilinear alimentary canal from esophagus to anus from where feces/ stool goes out and if it does not go out , the alimentary canal is functional abnormally and it is called constipation.
Constipation is a digestive problem that perturbs Bhaskor Bannergi who loves his life even at his 70.

A septuagenarian Bengali gentle man is victim of such hallucination that it creates all the diseases and he keeps the entire house in trouble. Mr.Bhaskor Bannergi keeps his architect daughter Piku ( Deepika Padukone) in active in his health problem. Daughter  is not able to concentrate even in office due to  her father's constipation.

Irritation level of daughter is high because her father is obsessed about constipation and Blood Pressure. He keeps hiding bottle of salt.
Director Sujit Sircar has , awesomely, portrayed Bhascor Bannergi as benign Bengali person in the film. The chair at car roof, having commode-cut out at sitting place can tell how Mr. Bannergi is serious about the game of stomach, duodenum, rectum and anus but the game moves on without the movement of stool and that worries this gentleman about his life that he wants to live more with his lovely daughter Piku who spends her time either at home or in office in strain and irritation.
The car moves on road from Delhi to Kolkotta with empty throne ( chair) on its roof and the king is sitting inside the car. Mr.Bannergi goes to piss out at Petrol Pump as a small lap-child, stuns character and audiences. As mother gives a sensational voice to the boy and then boy feels like pissing out. Likewise the servant produces the voice for Mr.Bannergi, creates laughter but it shows how old man has inherent character of child.
Chaudhary humanizes with Piku,Bannergi and others of the family and goes back to Delhi.
Kolkotta becomes a nostalgic centre of Bannergi and he feels raised and rides cycle. He returns back with sweets ( jalebi). Piku fights with her father about his riding the cycle on the road of Kolkotta. Bannergi says that his soul will run away through alimentary canal only. Surprisingly, popular saying is that soul flies through mouth.
Mr.Bannergi feels easy, happy, coming out of bathroom. His alimentary canal starts functioning correctly. Stool travels out through alimentary canal and oozes out through anus. Piku feels happy but second day her father dies.
Piku and Chaudhary are seen together in New Delhi, distancing her bosom friend Syed who is suffering from constipation.
The constipation issue of a Bengali Benign person in film "PIKU" progresses into logical screenplay that has a travelogue.
This is a travelogue of a septuagenarian Bengali person and director Sujit Sircar has brilliantly portrayed it that has emerged into awesome progression of screenplay that keeps traveling from Buccal cavity ( Mouth) to anus.
The Big B Mr.Amitabh Bachchan has been portrayed in a new avatar of Bengali Bhadra Manush and character played by him has been matchless and unique.
